FHSW Mod: H-41, MFP, PiLB43, Seydlitz

Another batch of ships will reinforce the German navy and there is also a new AA gun for the Japanese. These include the planned H-41 battleship and the aircraft carrier Seydlitz and landing craft for the German panzers.

H-41

The H-class were meant to be the next battle ships after the Bismarck class. There were several designs but only the H-39 and H-41 were considered by Naval high command, the ship size increased with each design. Compared to the Bismarck the H-41 has higher calibre main guns, lower speed, more light AA guns. Armour protection is also increased all around.

 

8.6 cm RAG  

 

A new and unique weapon of the H-41 and MFP is the 8.6 cm RAG (Raketen abschussgerät). This is a type of anti-air rocket launcher with rockets that deploy a parachute to cover a larger area. The most similar weapon are the UP Rocket launchers on HMS Hood in FHSW.

 

MFP

 

Marinefährprahm were landing craft made for the invasion of Britain. This particular model is the Type D which was the largest and most well armed. It has a dual purpose 88 mm gun and light flak guns.

Type 99 88 mm gun

The Japanese happened to capture the same model of dual purpose gun in China. It was copied and adopted as the Type 99 88 mm gun. Compared to the Japanese Type 88 75 mm gun it is both more powerful and protected against enemy fire.

 

 

PiLB43

 

The Pionierlandungsboot 43 was another landing craft. Essentially a barge with 2 flak guns it can transport even larger vehicles than the MFP. Because of its shape it can operate even in shallow waters.

Seydlitz

Seydlitz was as an Admiral Hipper class heavy cruiser that was almost finished before WWII. After the loss of Bismarck it was decided to convert it into an aircraft carrier. Like the Graf Zeppelin it was never finished. It only has anti-aircraft armament making it vulnerable to other ships. On the other hand it is quite fast.

FHSW: Several new destroyers are introduced to bring the German navy up to par with other navies

One gap in Forgotten Hope and FHSW between the battleship Bismarck , Admiral Hipper heavy cruisers and their many submarines has been destroyers. Now the German navy will have everything from the first to last destroyers that started construction in the 1930s to the end of WWII.

Type 1934

Also known as the Z1 class this was a group of four destroyers whose design initially was limited by naval treaties but was quickly changed to better match destroyers of other navies. This is the first new ship type since the original US Elco and Japanese Type 38 PT boats with the ability to lay sea mines. Sea mines will be visible on the minimap for allies to avoid hitting them. The gun armament is fairly limited. While the main 12.8 cm guns can fire AA shells against aircraft they have limited gun elevation.

Type 1936

The Type 1936 or Z17 class have increased firepower with one additional 12.8 cm gun turret or 5 guns in total. While the firepower is somewhat mediocre it is faster than many other destroyers. The secondary anti-aircraft armament has also been increased with quad 20 mm guns and additional 3.7 cm guns. There will also a late war configuration with the single shot 3.7 cm guns replaced with clip fed Flak M42.

Type 1936A

The Type 1936A or Z31 class are the first German destroyers with 15 cm guns, more typical for a light cruiser. The amount of main guns is the same but it is also the first with a twin gun mount with high gun elevation. In this case it allowed for additonal AA guns in the front instead of two main gun turrets.

Type 1936C

Finally there is the Type 1936C or Z46 class. While in reality only two were laid down all five that were planned were cancelled this particular model also takes in to account how it would have been armed with additional AA guns as part of Project Barbara. It has six 12.8 cm main guns and a extraordinary AA armament with automatic twin 5.5 cm guns (similar to the Flakpanzer V in FHSW) and quad 30 mm guns.

Vosper MTB

This will be the first British motor torpedo boat, similar to the US Elco boats or German E-Boats (Schnellboote). The twin heavy machine guns have been complemented with a single 20 mm Oerlikon gun in the front.

Fiji

The 11 Fiji class light cruisers are somewhat old fashioned ships in that the main guns are solely for combating other ships or ground targets. During the war additional AA guns were fitted to the extent that one of the main gun turrets were removed.

Bellona

The Bellona class were later additions to the Dido class of light cruisers and can be descibed as anti-aircraft light cruisers. The main guns are dual purpose making them effective against aircraft too.  While none of the cruisers was named HMS Ulysses a serviceman onboard one of the cruisers wrote a novel of the same name about the Arctic convoys. So, the older model of the Ulysses on the FHSW map Arctic Convoy is being replaced.

Graf Zeppelin

The Graf Zeppelin Aircraft carrier began construction in the 1930s as part of Plan Z, a major investment into surface ships. Plagued by inter-service rivalry, limited experience with aircraft carriers and shift from large surface ships to submarines it was never finished.  

As was planned in 1942 navalized Bf 109 and Ju 87 aircraft would be onboard. While most aircraft carriers settled with a long flight deck there were also two catapults that would assist some of the aircraft. In FHSW these catapults will be used to even launch jet aircraft in later scenarios.  

You can walk around the ship freely through several corridors and stairs. Stairs are also less buggy than ladders when the ship is moving.  

The 20 mm, 37 mm and 105 mm gun turrets of German ships like the Bismarck and Prinz Eugen have also been changed to more accurate models in this update.

Project 1058

A design made by the major shipbuilding company Gibbs & Cox that was offered to the Soviet Union in 1930s. Unlike other aircraft carrier hybrids this ship would have been a full scale batteship with greater firepower than even the Iowa class which would become the last battleships of the US navy.  It has a both flight deck and two catapults for aircraft to take off from. It will be a possible capital ship for both the USA and USSR the difference will be what aircraft there is onboard, with the US having more types of aircraft including floatplanes.

XSB2C-2

This new floatplane is the first on the allied side to be armed with more than just machine guns. As a floatplane variant of the Helldiver it is armed with two 20 mm cannons and it can carry bombs, making it analogous to the Aichi E16A1 Zuiun introduced in FHSW 0.552. It will be on the catapults of the Project 1058 warship or on the shore.

Desert Combat The Eastern Front Mod for bf1942 deals from 1991 to 2025 in the eastern front this mod features the Russian army and the Ukrainian army and some other factions, according to the developer ZEEK00.

At the moment, only images are available. We hope to welcome a playable version in the future.
