Battlefield 1918: The Russian Civil War Expands
Greetings to the loyal fans of Battlefield 1918! We of the Battlefield 1918 Mod Development Team hope you have had an excellent year and are also glad to see your continued support for our mod. As the year is drawing to a close we believe now is a great time to reveal some of the new maps that will be in the Russian Civil War expansion in the next update of Battlefield 1918! The first new map is the Battle Of Pskov!
Fought as part of the larger 11 Days War aka Operation Faustschlag, the Battle of Pskov was fought in late February of 1918 and saw Red Army forces desperately try to hold off advancing German troops. The map itself will have players fighting both in the trenches and in the streets to determine who will control the city in the end. Expect formidable defenses from not just the trenches but also the ancient fortified city walls. Of course this is not the only new map that will be added to the Russian Civil War expansion, as another map worth mentioning today is Motovilovka!
Fought on November 18th of 1918, the Battle of Motovilovka (sometimes referred to as the Battle of Motovilivka) was caused by a rebellion in the Ukrainian military following both the defeat of Germany (who supported the Ukrainian State) and the Ukrainian State's later plan to form a federation with White Russian forces. As a result Ukrainian Rebels (most notably Sich Riflemen) would fight Ukrainian Government troops at Motovilovka station with both sides using armored trains to try to gain an advantage. Naturally the railroad tracks are the dominate feature on this map and are flanked by villages and woods in which this battle will rage.
