FHSW: Guided bombs

FHSW is back with a message today. Included are guided Bombs. So, a new animation for you out there to enjoy. You can find further updates in the following message. So you can look forward to further innovations and the resulting new version that will then be released.

I-Go Model Ko

also known as the Ki-147 was a radio guided missile developed for the Japanese Army Air Force to attack enemy ships. It was carried by the Ki-67 twin engine bomber aircraft and could be controlled 11 km from the aicraft. It has 800 kg of explosives and a jet engine.

 

Fritz X

The Ruhrstahl SD 1400 X more commonly known as the Fritz X was a German guided bomb. It was intended to destroy heavily armoured warships. Two were enough to sink the battleship Roma following the Italian surrender to the Allies in 1943. Though, it is a glide bomb which limits range in comparison to other guided bombs. In FHSW you will be able to fly a He111 with this bomb or call upon using a spotter kit.There will also be some changes to the jet powered Hs 293 that has been in FHSW for some time. It will be updated both visually and in performance.

British naval aircraft

 

There will be more carrier-based aircraft for the British, while some have no difference to their ground-based counterparts, one notable example is the twin engine Mosquito. The Sea Mosquito can either drop torpedoes or two special spherical shaped Highball bombs that bounce on the water surface. Highball bombs were one of the weapons considered to destroy the German battleship Tirpitz in Norway but ended up being ready to late into the war to be used.

 

 

Aircraft carriers

 

Another change for naval combat is that the larger guns like a 5 inch or 127 mm gun on aircraft carriers will be able to damage not just aircraft but other ships. Aircraft carriers will be able to engage each other or smaller warships like destroyers. Though, escort carriers and other smaller aircraft carriers won’t have this ability and do best when avoiding the enemy.

 

 

 

Armoured Combat

 

There are also some changes for tank combat. For the Soviet Union 100 mm APCR rounds will be introduced which historically were late for WWII but will be useful especially in hypothetical 1946 battles in FHSW.The general armor system has also been changed to make HEAT and HESH projectiles more effective even when hitting spaced armor or sandbags on armored vehicles. A weakness of these types of munitions is thatMedium caliber tank canons and in particular Japanese ones will have improved performance. There will also be a greater difference between 57 mm 6 pounder guns with different barrel lengths. Another addition for the British are AP shells for vehicles armed with the 84 mm 25 pounder gun like the Bishop.Another small change is that the tank crew kit and the spotter kits which can call in aircraft will have new world models to make it more clear what you can pick up. The spotter kits will also no longer carry rifles to incentivize players to keep their distance from enemy infantry.
