Desert Combat Eastern Front: The announcement of the .1b build

Desert Combat Eastern Front 0.1b Update Released.

It wasn't long ago, just last month, that we reported on the new mod Desert Combat Eastern Front, which deals with the modern war in Eastern Europe between Russia and Ukraine.

A few days later, the first playable alpha version of the mod was released, offering a glimpse into the future development plan. Now the next step has been completed: version 0.1b is out, which you can enjoy and immerse yourself in the experience of the mod and the game.

The 0.1b update is officially done.  This one was a really fun update to work on, and it adds a solid mix of new vehicles, weapons, and character content to the mod.

That’s it for 0.1b — this update wraps up this phase of development, and overall I’m really happy with how things turned out.  

Next up is 0.1c, and it’s going to be a much bigger step forward. The focus will shift more toward gameplay depth and realism, including:

• Fragment-based grenade damage (instead of basic explosive damage)      
• A more detailed and realistic armor system for tanks  

Also, quick heads-up: 0.1c will likely be the last update in this smaller format. After that, I’m planning to move to larger version jumps (like 0.1 → 0.2). That means longer waits between updates, but each release will be much more packed.  Stay tuned.
