A Revolutionary Expansion!
Greetings to our beloved fans of Battlefield 1918! The Battlefield 1918 Mod Development Team is proud to present one of the biggest additions in the history of Battlefield 1918, namely a brand new expansion pack covering the Russian Civil War! This has been a feature long requested by many of our fans, and today we present to you a new look at the expansion by showing the new factions that will be added at launch. For a start, let's look at one of the most famous factions in the entire war, namely the Red Army!
The military arm of the Bolshevik movement, the Red Army sought to reform the Russia of old into a Soviet Union and to spread their revolutionary ideals as far as possible. The Red Army was also numerically one of the largest military factions of the war and as such should be expected to be seen frequently in new maps. Of course we can't just add the Red Army on its own and thus let us now move on to another major faction of the war, namely the White Army!
The White Army of the Russian Civil War is best described as a loose coalition of various forces that opposed the Bolshevik in Russia. As such players should expect to see a number of variations when it comes to the uniforms being worn by these soldiers. It should be noted that despite this loose coalition of forces the White Army managed to nevertheless achieve numerous victories earlier on in the war. Of course the Russian Civil War was in many ways not restricted to just Russia itself as the war also resulted in numerous breakaway states attempting to gain independence. With this in mind let's now move onto one such nation, namely the Republic Of Poland!
Attempting to gain their independence in the midst of the power vacuum left in the wake of the end of World War I, the people of Poland declared independence and formed an army with which to defend their new borders. In the chaos of the conflict Poland was forced to not only fight various forces from Russia, but also on occasion other breakaway states. This leads us quite cleanly into the 4th faction that will be added into this expansion, namely the Ukrainian People's Republic!
A breakaway socialist state which was also referred to as the Ukrainian National Republic, this nation nevertheless openly fought against the Bolsheviks as well as all the other factions mentioned so far in an attempt to gain independence.

So these are the 4 armies you can expect to play as in the Russian Civil War expansion, that said many may be wondering when this new expansion will be released. The answer is that the Russian Civil War expansion pack will be released as part of the upcoming 3.4 update of Battlefield 1918 which is coming early this year!
