FHSW: New AT and AA Weapons

FHSW: New AT and AA Weapons

While German, American and British anti-tank weapons have been introduced before this is the first time the Soviet gets some new ones. In late war battles they have had to use captured Panzerfaust but now there are several new weapons being introduced including the first two RPGs.  There also several new weapons for other nations, including the first man portable-air defense systems like the Fliegerfaust.

LPG-44

The LPG-44 was developed during the war in response to the German Panzerfaust and Panzerschreck. Compared to foreign weapons the power and effective range is like a Panzerfaust and it is reloadable like a Bazooka. It was formally adopted as the RPG-1 but was replaced by the RPG-2 shortly after.

DRG-40

The DRG-40 more commonly known as the RPG-2 was the first Soviet man-portable rocket launcher put into serivce. The power and especially the range is greater than the earlier launcher. In FHSW it stands somewhere between the Panzerfaust 250 and the M1A1 Bazooka.

T-30 and T-59 for the Bazooka

Two more rockets are also added for the M1A1 Bazooka to keep up. The new T59 rocket is an even bigger step up from the regular M6 rocket against tanks with greater range and effect on target. The high explosive T30 rocket detonates on impact which will make it easier to hit infantry around cover than before. Previously rockets delivering smoke, frag grenades or more powerful HEAT rockets have been added in update v.06 (see article).

VPGS-41

The VPGS-41 was a anti-tank rifle grenade introduced in 1941. Like the many rifle grenades of the First World War it has a rod to slide down the barrel of a regular rifle. It was only made for a few months because of limited effectiveness and the rod wore down the rifling in the barrel.  VKG-40 &

The Mosin rifle gets a new grenade launcher with two different types of munitions. The VKG-40 is a HEAT type to be used against armour and the VOG-40 is a regular frag rifle typically carried by riflemen to deal with other infantry.  With all those weapons being introduced it also been said that rifle grenades will be more common. HEAT rifle grenades will more often be available for riflemen to give them some ability to destroy enemy vehicles to make them more viable compared to dedicated anti-tank kits on vehicle heavy maps. Rifles like the G-43 and StG-44 will have access to rifle grenades which they did not have before.

Type 5 45 mm recoilless gun

The Type 5 45 mm recoilless gun is a Japanese counterpart to the Panzerfaust. Like the typical Panzerfaust the muzzle velocity and range is limited but the armour penetration is high. The launcher can also be reloaed.

7 cm Barrage Mortar

This 7 cm mortar is an unique AA weapon that launches seven airborne mines in the air that then slowly fall with parachutes. The rate of fire of the mortar makes it possible to create "minefields" in the air.

Fliegerfaust

The Fliegerfaust was a rocket launcher which fired nine 20 mm rockets all at once against aircraft. The rocket spread out make it easier to hit aircraft but against ground targets it has limited effectiveness.  Source: X.com (You can also the weapons being fired and reloaded there.)
